CCCA Policy Priorities

Our goals include

Helping businesses and families save money by improving the energy efficiency of their homes and offices

Affordable and Efficient Energy for CT

  • Improve energy efficiency and weatherization programs to combat barriers to access

  • Expand efficiency and electrification, including cooling and water heater systems, through promotion, incentives, and 0% financing

Sustainable Energy Policies and Infrastructure

  • Address existing grid constraints through transmission updates, buildout, distributed energy and grid enhancing technologies​

  • Expand solar deployment to renters and multi-unit households, increase solar installation on car ports and parking lots and lift the cap

  • Support networked geothermal

  • Ensure continued resiliency funding in the Public Benefits Charge

Foster Resilient Communities

  • Support environmental, structural and population resilience assessments in Plans of Conservation and Development and Hazard Mitigation Plans

  • Update building and fire codes to ensure resilient and safe infrastructure for our future

  • Expand access to heat pumps and solar canopies for vulnerable populations (e.g. assisted living/55+, childcare, schools)

Protect Ratepayers, Enforce Accountability

  • Protect ratepayers from paying methane gas subsidies

  • Hold climate polluters accountable for climate impacts
